How to Watch Young Einstein Online: A Fun and Quirky Take on the Scientist’s Origins

Looking to watch “Young Einstein” online? This Australian comedy film offers a hilarious, fictional take on the early life of Albert Einstein, blending science, humor, and adventure in a unique way. Whether you’re a fan of historical fiction or simply looking for an entertaining film, here’s a look at the plot and where you can enjoy this movie online.

Einstein’s Unlikely Beginnings: Young Einstein and Beer Bubbles

In the early 1900s, Albert Einstein, a curious young man, is raised on a small apple farm in Tasmania. Unlike his father, who dreams of passing down the family business, young Albert has a passion for physics and dreams of making a groundbreaking discovery. His father shows him his grandfather’s “laboratory,” a small shed used to experiment with beer brewing, and tells him of a long-standing challenge: the quest to introduce bubbles into beer. The person who achieves this, his father believes, could change the world forever.

After a night of heavy drinking, Albert comes up with a theory: the mass-energy equivalence formula, E=mc², could be used to split the atom in beer and create bubbles. Excited, Albert sets out to test his theory with a hammer and chisel, leading to an explosive result. The shed goes up in flames, but Albert proudly presents the discovery to his parents. His father, impressed with the result, suggests Albert patent the formula on the Australian mainland. This sets Albert on a journey that will lead him to unexpected encounters and further discoveries.

Meeting Marie Curie: Young Einstein’s Path to Sydney

On his train ride to Sydney, Albert meets Marie Curie, a brilliant scientist from Poland who is studying at the University of Sydney. She is immediately intrigued by Albert’s unconventional approach to science, while Preston Preston, the pompous manager of the Sydney Patent Office, is far less impressed. In Sydney, Albert stays in a less-than-ideal lodging and discovers that the Patent Office won’t accept scientific theories like his, so he heads to the University of Sydney to meet with Marie Curie.

At the university, Albert boldly erases a professor’s work and replaces it with his own theory, leading to a public confrontation. Though thrown out of the university, Albert wins Marie’s admiration. Meanwhile, Preston, eager to impress Marie with his upper-class lifestyle, grows jealous of the attention she gives Albert. As tensions rise, Preston manipulates the situation by taking Albert’s beer formula and turning it over to the Bavarian Brothers, two brewmasters intent on profiting from Albert’s discovery.

Rock and Roll, Romance, and the Theory of Relativity

While continuing his experiments, Albert invents rock and roll and an electric violin, all the while deepening his relationship with Marie. Together, they enjoy a day at the beach where Albert introduces her to surfing. Inspired by the moment, Albert formulates his famous theory of relativity, a discovery that leaves Marie in awe.

But as Albert’s fame grows, so does the greed of those around him. Preston, having obtained the formula, plans to mass-produce it using the Bavarian Brothers. When Albert protests, Preston and the brewmasters have Albert committed to a mental institution, claiming he is insane. Albert’s beloved electric violin is destroyed, and he is isolated from the world. Marie, determined to help Albert, confronts Preston, but he insists that he’s only trying to help the world with the formula.

The Escape and a Bold Journey to Paris

In his time at the institution, Albert’s sense of hopelessness grows, but he is soon visited by Marie, who reveals Preston’s plot. With his father’s help, Albert escapes the institution by turning his electric violin into an electric guitar and using it to short-circuit the facility’s security system. Once free, Albert learns that Marie has returned to France. He takes a small steamboat and sails across the seas to win her back. Together, they board the Curie family hot air balloon and make their way to Paris, where the Nobel Prize ceremony is taking place that night.

Preston’s Downfall and the Nobel Prize Ceremony

As Albert and Marie arrive at the Nobel ceremony, they discover that Preston has been awarded the Nobel Prize for his beer bubble invention. Albert confronts Preston in front of the audience, asking if he even understands the implications of splitting an atom. When Charles Darwin, present at the ceremony, realizes that Preston has unwittingly created an atomic bomb, he orders Preston to stop. Preston, however, ignores the warning and activates the keg, causing it to shake and build pressure.

Albert Einstein’s Final Stand: Saving the Day with Music

In a dramatic moment, Albert attaches his electric guitar to the keg in an attempt to drain its power. Marie warns him that this could kill him, but Albert plays a riff on the guitar, successfully defusing the keg’s pressure and preventing disaster. In the chaos, Preston tries to attack Albert, but Marie knocks him out cold. As Albert’s energy causes a massive explosion, he is revealed to be unharmed, his body radiating pure energy.

Returning to Tasmania and Changing the World

With Preston carted off to an asylum, Albert and Marie return to Tasmania, where Albert promises to give his beer formula to the world, instead of keeping it for personal gain. Marie, however, expresses concern about the potential consequences, wondering what would happen if governments use the formula to create atomic weapons. Albert, ever the optimist, trusts that the world’s leaders will use the formula for good, and he ends the movie by playing another rock and roll song, signaling that his journey is far from over.
