Wake Up, Ron Burgundy: An Anchorman Adventure

The Beginning of a Crazy Night

In 1974, Ron Burgundy is a famous anchorman for San Diego television station KVWN channel 4. The news team consists of Veronica Corningstone, KVWN’s first female reporter and anchor, along with his childhood friends: lead field reporter Brian Fantana, sportscaster Champion “Champ” Kind, and meteorologist Brick Tamland. After the 6 o’clock newscast, they attend a big TV anchor party.

The Rise of The Alarm Clock

Following the party, a group known as “The Alarm Clock” carries out a bank robbery the next morning. As KVWN reports on the robbery, the members of The Alarm Clock celebrate their success. Their unclear goal of “the revolution” leads to chaos, with Hauser attempting to define their mission as eliminating television propaganda after being inspired by Burgundy’s anti-drug public service announcement.

The Race Against Time

As The Alarm Clock plans another robbery, Burgundy takes it upon himself to investigate. His actions lead to his firing from KVWN, with Corningstone taking over as lead anchor. When Corningstone is kidnapped by The Alarm Clock, Burgundy, reinstated at KVWN, sets out to rescue her. They head to the San Diego Observatory where the group plans to broadcast their message.

The Showdown at the Observatory

Upon reaching the observatory, Burgundy is captured by The Alarm Clock, who demand he read their manifesto on air. Refusing, Corningstone is about to face serious consequences until Burgundy steps up. In a surprising turn of events, Burgundy’s impromptu speech helps overcome The Alarm Clock, leading to their defeat.

A Triumph and New Beginnings

Burgundy and his team return victorious to San Diego, celebrated by the community. Burgundy is offered a new opportunity in journalism, which he selflessly offers to Corningstone. Even his rival, Mantooth, acknowledges Burgundy’s bravery and respect him in the end. The members of The Alarm clock face incarceration but go on to achieve unexpected success after their release.
