The publication of the last part of the globally successful book trilogy, Dedalus, is imminent. In order to ensure a smooth start without data leaks or spoilers, the translation of the book is to be carried out in complete isolation and under strict security precautions.

The Translation Project Begins

The nine translators, representing the top-selling countries of “Dedalus,” are taken to a bunker to work on translating the book into their respective languages. Managed by publisher Éric Angstrom, the translators receive small sections of the secret book daily for translation.

A Betrayal Revealed

Despite security measures, the first ten pages are leaked online by an unknown person, leading to a ransom demand to prevent further leaks. Angstrom pressures the translators, causing internal conflict and suspicion within the group.

Revelations and Recriminations

As more pages are leaked, tensions rise in the bunker. Angstrom’s drastic actions result in tragedy, with the suicide of one translator and escalating violence among the group. Flashbacks reveal a plot by English translator Alex Goodman to steal the manuscript.

Goodman’s revelation of his true identity as the author, Oscar Brach, exposes Angstrom’s greed and manipulation. The murder of a close friend by Angstrom is avenged, leading to Angstrom’s arrest and Goodman’s identity being secured.
