Plot Summary

As Prince Derek and Princess Odette’s kingdom prepares to celebrate Festival Days, the evil sorceress Zelda plots to reclaim Rothbart’s notes on the Forbidden Arts; notes she helped write when she and Rothbart were partners. Zelda captures a yakey-bird named Whizzer, who has the ability to imitate any voice after hearing it only once. She uses a magical fireball called a seeker to target anyone she commands it to, coercing Whizzer to spy on Derek and Odette.

Zelda’s Deception

Whizzer overhears how Derek and Rogers discovered the notes and had them hidden. Zelda, disguised as an “accordion slave”, charms her way into the castle, steals the notes, and learns that Derek tore off a portion and has hidden it elsewhere. She casts a seeker to find Odette, while Whizzer is sent to deliver a ransom note to Derek.

The Final Showdown

Odette is transformed into a swan by Zelda, who plans to test the Power to Destroy on her. Derek, with the help of Puffin, Speed, and Whizzer, races to rescue Odette. In a battle against Zelda, Derek manages to destroy her wand, causing her demise. Despite believing Odette was killed by a seeker, Derek burns the notes and miraculously brings Odette back to life.

Happy Endings

The Kingdom is safe once more, the festival proceeds smoothly, and Odette and Derek reaffirm their love. As they watch the festivities, Derek promises that magic will always be present as long as Odette is by his side.
