Plot Summary

In 1855, Edward Pierce, a master thief disguised as a member of London’s high society, plans to steal a monthly shipment of gold from the London to Folkestone train. The gold, intended as payment for British troops in the Crimean War, is guarded in heavy safes with four keys. Pierce recruits accomplices and scheming ensues to acquire the keys through deception.
