10-year-old Lucas Nickle finds himself alone with his sister and grandmother while his parents vacation in Puerto Vallarta. Neglected and bullied by a local troublemaker, Steve, Lucas seeks solace in taking out his frustration on an anthill in his yard.

Enter the Ant Colony

Zoc, an eccentric sorcerer ant, is determined to fight back against Lucas’s intrusion. In contrast, Hova, a nurse ant fascinated by humans, sees an opportunity to communicate with Lucas. The ant leaders decide to shrink Lucas to their size using a potion crafted by Zoc.

A World in Miniature

Lucas awakens to find himself tiny and under the care of the ant colony. While Zoc sees him as a threat to be studied and consumed, the Queen sentences Lucas to hard labor. Hova, along with her friends Kreela and Fugax, step up to train Lucas in the ways of the ants.
