Childhood Encounter

In 1964, eight-year-old Allen Bauer jumps overboard during a boat tour and encounters a young girl underwater. Surprisingly, he can breathe underwater when they hold hands. However, they are separated, and Allen believes it was a hallucination.

Reunion in New York

Twenty years later, Allen meets a mermaid in Cape Cod and brings her to New York. Named Madison, she learns English and explores the city. Despite challenges, Allen and Madison fall in love, with plans to marry.

Revelation and Conflict

Madison’s identity as a mermaid is exposed at a dignitary dinner, leading to her capture for examination. Allen rejects her initially, but with help from an unlikely ally, he decides to rescue her.

Escape to the Sea

With the help of his brother and the eccentric scientist, Allen rescues Madison from the lab. They escape to New York Harbor, where they realize their connection and ability to live underwater together, fleeing towards an underwater kingdom.
