On the planet Corellia, two orphans, Han and Qi’ra, find themselves in a desperate situation as they attempt to escape a local gang. Their plan involves bribing an Imperial officer with stolen coaxium, a valuable starship fuel, to secure passage on a transport. However, their escape takes a tragic turn when Qi’ra is captured just before she can board. Han makes a solemn vow to return for her and decides to join the Imperial Navy, adopting the surname “Solo” as he embarks on a new chapter of his life.

Han Solo’s Journey in the Imperial Navy

Three years later, Han is serving as an infantryman on the planet Mimban after being expelled from the Imperial Flight Academy due to insubordination. During his time there, he encounters a trio of criminals posing as Imperial soldiers, led by the cunning Tobias Beckett. In a bold move, Han attempts to blackmail Beckett into allowing him to join their gang. However, his plan backfires, resulting in his arrest and subsequent imprisonment in a pit where he is to be fed to a Wookiee named Chewbacca.

Understanding Chewbacca’s language, Han manages to persuade him to cooperate, and together they escape the pit. Recognizing the potential of Chewbacca’s strength, Beckett rescues them and enlists their help in stealing a shipment of coaxium on the planet Vandor-1. Unfortunately, their plan goes awry when the Cloud Riders, a group of space pirates led by Enfys Nest, hijack the shipment. The ensuing chaos results in the destruction of the coaxium and the deaths of Beckett’s partner Val and their crewman Rio.

Stealing from the Syndicate: A Dangerous Mission

After the failed heist, Beckett reveals that he was ordered to steal the shipment for Dryden Vos, a high-ranking crime boss in the notorious Crimson Dawn syndicate. To avoid Vos’s wrath, Han and Chewbacca volunteer to help Beckett steal another shipment. They travel to Vos’s luxurious yacht, where Han is reunited with Qi’ra, who has risen to become Vos’s top lieutenant. Han proposes a daring plan to steal unrefined coaxium from the mines on Kessel, and Vos agrees, insisting that Qi’ra accompany them.

Qi’ra leads the team to Lando Calrissian, a charming smuggler and pilot, hoping he will lend them his ship, the Millennium Falcon. In a high-stakes game of cards, Han challenges Lando for the ship. Although Lando cheats to win, he ultimately agrees to join the mission in exchange for a share of the profits.

The Kessel Run: A Race Against Time

Upon reaching Kessel in the Falcon, the team infiltrates the mine, but chaos ensues when Lando’s droid co-pilot, L3-37, instigates a slave revolt. They successfully steal the coaxium, but L3 is fatally damaged in the process, and Lando is injured during their escape. With L3’s navigational data uploaded into the ship’s systems, Han pilots the Falcon through the treacherous and uncharted Kessel Run, evading an Imperial blockade. The Falcon, though badly damaged, manages to land on the planet Savareen to process the coaxium.

Confrontation with the Cloud Riders

As they regroup, Enfys Nest and her crew arrive, having tracked the team from Vandor. In a shocking turn of events, Lando abandons Han and Chewbacca, leaving them to face the Cloud Riders alone. Enfys reveals that her crew are rebels fighting against the syndicates and the Empire. Han, moved by their cause, attempts to deceive Vos, but Vos is already aware of the double-cross thanks to Beckett’s warning. In a fierce confrontation, Vos sends his guards to eliminate Enfys, but the Cloud Riders overpower them, leaving Vos vulnerable.

Anticipating Vos’s next move, Han tries to seize the coaxium, but Beckett betrays Vos and escapes with the valuable cargo, taking Chewbacca hostage. In a dramatic twist, Qi’ra kills Vos and instructs Han to pursue Beckett. She then contacts Vos’s superior, Maul, to inform him of the mission’s failure, placing the blame on Beckett.

The Final Showdown: Han’s Choices

In a tense confrontation, Han faces Beckett and shoots him dead before he can retaliate. Qi’ra departs in Vos’s yacht, while Han and Chewbacca decide to give the coaxium to Enfys, who offers Han a chance to join
