The story of “Rob-B-Hood” unfolds with a gripping sequence where friends Thongs and Octopus find themselves in a precarious situation. They evade security guards in a hospital after stealing money and cancer medication from a safe. This thrilling escapade sets the stage for a series of unexpected events that lead to a dramatic kidnapping.

The Kidnapping of Baby Lee

Amidst the chaos, a newborn baby from the wealthy Lee family is snatched by Max, the mother’s ex-boyfriend. The security guards, distracted by the chase, corner Max on an escalator. In a violent struggle, Max and the baby fall, but Thongs heroically catches the baby while Max meets a tragic end. With the guards still occupied, Thongs and Octopus make their escape in the Landlord’s minivan, setting off a chain of events that will change their lives forever.

A Job Offer with High Stakes

Months later, the Landlord discovers his flat has been burgled, losing his life savings. He receives a call from his middleman, Uncle Seven, who offers him a lucrative job to kidnap baby Lee on behalf of a triad boss. The promise of HK$7 million entices Thongs and Octopus, who accept the job without fully understanding the implications. They soon learn the truth when the Landlord flees the Lees’ mansion with the baby, leading to a moral dilemma.

Disgusted by the idea of kidnapping an innocent child, Thongs initially threatens to return the baby. However, the Landlord’s desperate situation convinces him to go along with the plan. As they make their way to a rendezvous point in Sai Kung, they encounter a police roadblock. The Landlord’s attempt to outrun the police ends in disaster when he crashes the van down a hill. With the police closing in, he instructs Thongs and Octopus to escape with the baby.

Bonding with the Baby

While the Landlord is taken into custody for reckless driving, he learns about the baby’s immense value through the news. He contacts Thongs, advising him to hold onto the baby until he can negotiate a higher price. Over the next few days, Thongs and Octopus care for the baby, forming a strong bond. Thongs fights the urge to gamble, while Octopus grapples with guilt over cheating on his pregnant wife, Pak Yin. Meanwhile, both the triads and the police are on the hunt for the baby, heightening the tension.

The Triad’s Pursuit

The triad boss, furious over the delay in receiving his “grandson,” sends his men to retrieve the baby from Thongs’ flat. Faced with threats from both the triads and Police Inspector Mok, Thongs and Octopus go into hiding with the baby. Shortly after the Landlord’s release, he meets with the triad boss, who raises the offer to HK$30 million for the baby. However, Thongs and Octopus prioritize the baby’s safety over the money.

A Desperate Rescue

As they bring the baby to the triad boss’ mansion, they reluctantly hand him over. Just as they are about to leave, they hear the baby crying, triggering memories of their time together. Overwhelmed by emotion, Thongs and Octopus fight their way back into the triad boss’ amusement park to rescue the baby, while the Landlord escapes with the money. In a tense standoff, Thongs nearly escapes with the baby but is forced to surrender when the triads threaten Octopus’s life.

The Final Confrontation

Confronted by the triad boss, who insists the baby is his grandson, Thongs and Octopus are vindicated when a blood test proves otherwise. In a fit of rage, the boss places the baby in a deep freeze room next to Max’s corpse, prompting Thongs and Octopus to fight for the child’s safety. They find themselves trapped but are saved by Inspector Mok and the Landlord, who quickly unlocks the door.

A Race Against Time

Thongs and Octopus rush to the garage with the comatose baby, where Thongs attempts to revive him using a makeshift defibrillator powered by a car battery. Despite his desperate efforts, the baby remains unresponsive and is taken away in an ambulance, where his heart is found to be weak. The trio faces the consequences of their actions, imprisoned for kidnapping, but they seize the opportunity to apologize to their loved ones during a mock capital punishment demonstration.
