In the heart of Hollywood, Adam West prepares for a gala-style charity event aimed at helping orphans. This event features an impressive collection of classic cars, including the iconic Batmobile from the beloved Batman series. Adam’s loyal butler, Jerry, whom he affectionately calls “Alfred,” has meticulously arranged the event, reuniting Adam with his former co-star, Burt Ward.
During the gala, Adam shares a secret with Burt: he has kept the key to the original Batmobile from their time on the show. However, as he proudly displays the key, the lights suddenly go out. When they flicker back on, both the key and the Batmobile have mysteriously vanished. A valet outside informs them that a thief had been asking for directions to “the highway to Arizona.” Despite Burt’s hesitation, Adam persuades him to embark on a road trip to recover the stolen Batmobile.
As they travel, a riddle left at the gala prompts Adam and Burt to reminisce about their lives before fame. Burt recalls a challenging time when he was homeless, living under the Miami pier and collecting bottles for a living. His fortunes changed when he landed the role of Robin after a successful audition. Adam, on the other hand, reflects on his fierce competition with Lyle Waggoner for the role of Batman, ultimately winning the part due to his impressive jawline.
Upon reaching the Arizona border, Adam and Burt discover a bar named “The Highway to Arizona,” located just blocks from the charity event. They retrace their steps to the bar, where Adam is momentarily captivated by a mysterious woman who resembles someone from his past. However, she vanishes just as quickly as she appeared. When Burt returns from the restroom, they hear their suspect fleeing the bar. A confrontation with a group of henchmen ensues, leading to a chaotic brawl. After defeating their attackers, they find their car being towed, but instead of a parking ticket, they receive a movie ticket to a screening of Batman: The Movie.
During the film, Adam and Burt notice that all footage of Batman and Robin has been cut, leaving only the villains on screen. This prompts Burt to recall a humorous incident where television censors criticized the tightness of his Robin briefs, leading him to take temporary shrinkage pills. Meanwhile, Adam grapples with painful memories of his divorce and the estrangement from his children.
After the screening, the duo follows an oil slick to a nearby diner, but their search yields no leads. As they reminisce about their on-set rivalry and a crazed fan who nearly harmed Burt, they encounter a fan who reveals the location of the Batmobile. This fan, a method actor who once played Egghead, shares crucial information that reignites their quest.
Upon arriving at the Batmobile, Adam and Burt find themselves in a precarious situation as the vehicle is booby-trapped. They are sedated and remotely piloted to the original Batcave set, where Jerry reveals himself as the thief. In a surprising twist, he removes his mask to reveal Frank Gorshin, the actor who portrayed the Riddler. Frank explains his motive: years of resentment for the recognition that hero actors received over the villains.
Adam realizes that the mysterious woman from earlier was Julie Newmar, who is revealed to be Frank’s accomplice. Strapped to an armed bomb, Adam cleverly tricks Frank into ejecting himself from the Batmobile. With a prop Batarang gifted to him years ago, Adam frees himself and Burt just in time for their escape before the Batcave detonates, although Burt suffers minor burns in the process. They quickly call the police to apprehend Frank Gorshin and Julie Newmar.
Days later, Adam and Burt return to the re-opening of the classic car event for orphans. Just as before, the lights go out, and the Batmobile disappears once again. With the classic Batman theme playing in the background, Adam rushes off to find the culprits, with a more enthusiastic Burt by his side, ready for their next adventure.
