Reap the Wild Wind: The Salvage Business

In 1840, Loxi Claiborne manages a marine salvage business inherited from her late father. A powerful hurricane hits the Key West area, causing a wreck on the nearby shoals. Loxi and other salvagers rush to claim the cargo, but they are not the first on the scene. The first salvager, King Cutler, may have orchestrated the wreck.

Falling in Love and Deception

Loxi and her crew rescue Captain Jack Stuart from the wreck, but they do not share in the salvage rights. Nursing Jack back to health, Loxi develops feelings for him. During a trip to Charleston with her cousin Drusilla, Loxi hatches a plan to secure a captain’s position for Jack by manipulating Steve Tolliver, who manages the sailing ship line where Jack works.
