These incidents made him focus less on his slacker surfer and beach partying lifestyle and more on his studies. His efforts to get accepted into Stanford face numerous obstacles from his guidance counselor, Ms. Cobb, to his constantly stoned brother, Lance, and his inebriated mom, Cindy.
