In the 1966 comedy film Munster, Go Home! Full Movie, Herman Munster (Fred Gwynne) and his wife, Lily (Yvonne De Carlo), embark on a delightful and absurd adventure when they learn they have inherited an English manor called Munster Hall. This inheritance comes with a peculiar twist: Herman is now titled Lord Munster, much to the dismay of his English relatives.
The story begins when Herman and Lily are informed by the will of Cavanaugh Munster that they are the new owners of Munster Hall, a grand estate located in Shroudshire, England. Along with the inheritance comes a surprising title for Herman: Lord Munster. Despite the grandeur of the estate, Herman is more concerned about the practicalities of the move. The Munsters, along with their family, board the SS United States, a famed American transatlantic passenger liner, to begin their journey across the Atlantic to their new home in England.
As they sail across the ocean, the family experiences a series of humorous incidents. Herman, who is not accustomed to the ocean, gets seasick. Marilyn (Debbie Watson), the Munsters’ niece, finds herself caught up in a budding romance with Roger Moresby (Robert Pine), a handsome Englishman. Meanwhile, Grandpa Munster (Al Lewis) accidentally consumes a wolf pill, which causes him to transform into a grey wolf. Grandpa’s transformation creates chaos, especially when he has to be smuggled through British immigration and customs in his new form.
Upon arriving in England, Herman and Lily are greeted by their English relatives, who are none too pleased about the American Munsters inheriting Munster Hall. Cousins Grace (Jeanne Arnold) and Freddie (Terry-Thomas) are particularly upset, as they had hoped to claim the estate for themselves. With the help of their manipulative mother, Lady Effigie (Hermione Gingold), Grace and Freddie devise a plan to rid themselves of the Munsters and take control of Munster Hall.
The American Munsters, however, are undeterred. They quickly adjust to their new surroundings and are determined to make Munster Hall their home. Despite the British relatives’ best efforts to intimidate them, Herman and Lily remain confident. Freddie, in an attempt to scare them away, disguises himself as a ghost, but he is so frightened by Herman’s monstrous appearance that he runs away in terror. Grandpa, always on the lookout for mysteries, begins to investigate the strange happenings at Munster Hall and uncovers a hidden secret in the basement.
Grandpa’s investigation reveals a shocking discovery: Munster Hall’s basement is home to a counterfeiting operation led by a mysterious figure known only as the Gryphon. The plot thickens when the Gryphon, disguised as Roger Moresby, attempts to manipulate the Munsters and sabotage their stay. However, with Lily’s help, Herman manages to thwart the Gryphon’s plans, exposing the entire operation.
As tensions rise between the American and British Munsters, Herman enters a thrilling race behind the wheel of Grandpa’s custom dragster, the “DRAG-U-LA.” Grace and Freddie, still scheming to take control of the estate, plot to kill Herman during the race. Their plan, which involves the Gryphon posing as Roger, seems foolproof. However, with the help of his family, Herman manages to win the race and foil their scheme.
The revelation of the Gryphon’s true identity and the exposure of the British Munsters’ criminal activities leads to their arrest by the local authorities. The Munsters’ victory is complete when Herman captures Freddie and Grace by tossing tires on them. Lady Effigie and her butler are also taken into custody, thanks to Lily and Eddie (Butch Patrick), Herman’s son.
In the end, Herman and his family decide that Munster Hall is not their true home. Rather than keeping the estate for themselves, they donate Munster Hall and the surrounding land to the city for historic preservation. The Munsters leave Shroudshire behind, heading back to their beloved American home, their hearts full of fond memories of their time in England.
Meanwhile, Marilyn and Roger’s love story reaches its happy conclusion, with the two hoping to see each other again. As the Munsters depart, they leave behind a legacy of laughter, adventure, and a uniquely family-centered journey that only they could have experienced.
