Ugyen, a government teacher in Thimphu, dreams of becoming a singer in Australia after completing four years of teaching. When he is assigned to teach in the remote mountain village of Lunana, he considers quitting but decides to take on the challenge.

Ugyen starts teaching with limited resources, earning the affection of the children who see him as a guiding light. His innovative methods, including using a makeshift blackboard and fostering a bond with a yak named Norbu, make him a beloved figure in the village.
As winter approaches, Ugyen must leave Lunana. Despite a heartfelt farewell from the villagers and the children’s plea for his return in spring, Ugyen plans to leave Bhutan for good. Saldon, a young girl in the village, hopes he will come back someday.
