Plot Summary:

In medieval Italy, Phillipe Gaston, a thief known as “The Mouse”, is captured and sentenced to death, but escapes from the Bishop of Aquila’s dungeons through the sewers. Former captain Etienne Navarre arrives, rescues Phillipe, and reveals a plan to kill the evil Bishop of Aquila.

The Curse:

Navarre and Isabeau of Anjou were cursed to be “always together, yet eternally apart” by the Bishop. Navarre turns into a wolf at night, while Isabeau becomes a hawk during the day as a result of the curse. Imperius informs Phillipe of the curse’s conditions for breaking it.

The Journey to Break the Curse:

Phillipe convinces Navarre to try to break the curse first before seeking revenge on the Bishop. After surviving various obstacles, including encounters with the Bishop’s guards, the group reaches Aquila for the final showdown.

The Climax:

As Navarre duels with Marquet in the cathedral, a solar eclipse occurs, prompting Navarre to realize Imperius was right about breaking the curse. Despite their efforts, the church bells ring, and Navarre believes Isabeau has been euthanized. Navarre continues his fight and eventually defeats Marquet.

The Resolution:

Just as Navarre is about to kill the Bishop, a human Isabeau intervenes, and together they face the Bishop, ultimately breaking the curse. The Bishop meets his demise, and Navarre and Isabeau finally reunite in joy, thanking Phillipe and Imperius for their role in the curse’s resolution.
