In 1898, a German outlaw named Erik Klaus allegedly buried treasure somewhere in the Arizona desert before disappearing, leaving behind an ominous warning to anyone who went looking for his stash. Years later, a group of cowboys discovers the loot, which turns out to be a coal-like “summoning stone” that releases Krampus when exposed to open flames.

The Unleashing of Krampus

Decades later, a family consisting of Will and Amber, and their children Tommy and Fiona, travels to Arizona to spend Christmas with Amber’s parents, Dale and Alice Henderson. Tommy finds the summoning stone, which brings forth Krampus when accidentally burned with a lit cigarette. Krampus runs amok, terrorizing the area and causing chaos.

A Battle for Survival

As Krampus wreaks havoc, the family and their friends must band together to survive. Will, Dale, Alice, and Amber fall victim to Krampus, while David sacrifices himself to buy time for the others to escape. Cooper, an expert on Krampus, joins forces with the remaining survivors to fight back.

They lure Krampus into an abandoned mine shaft, where Cooper makes the ultimate sacrifice to trap Krampus with TNT, banishing the creature back to Hell. In the aftermath, the survivors are rescued by a state trooper named Dan, but not without facing more danger from a baby Krampus that had hatched from the summoning stone.
