Carley Elle Allison (Sarah Fisher) is a 17-year-old competitive figure skater in Toronto. Her motto is to always find a reason to be happy. She has a lot going for her: she’s working towards gaining a spot on Canada’s national team, enjoys singing, has a great family and friends, and even meets John, a sweet and handsome guy (Luke Bilyk) from her biology class at a party.

A Rollercoaster of Emotions

Just when things seem to be going perfectly, Carley starts feeling ill. She struggles with a severe shortage of breath, initially dismissed as asthma. After collapsing on a date with John, she is rushed to the hospital where doctors discover a rare form of cancerous tumor (melanoma) outside her trachea. Despite the diagnosis, Carley’s positive outlook remains unwavering as she undergoes tracheal surgery and later, chemotherapy.

Finding Love in the Midst of Struggle

Carley faces her battle with cancer with humor and grace. John stands by her side, declaring his love and support. Despite the challenges, they attend prom together, sharing an intimate moment for the first time. As time passes, Carley’s hair starts growing back, and she cautiously resumes her skating career.

Carley’s Legacy and Loss

Unfortunately, Carley is rediagnosed with a rare form of cancer in her lungs. Despite the unwavering love and support of John and her family, Carley eventually succumbs to the disease at the young age of 19. In her memory, the Carley’s Angels Foundation is established to assist others in need of financial support for medical expenses.
