Inside Llewyn Davis Full Movie Online: A Struggling Folk Singer’s Journey

In 1961, the story of Inside Llewyn Davis Full Movie Online unfolds in New York City’s vibrant Greenwich Village, where Llewyn Davis, a struggling folk singer, faces the harsh realities of his artistic ambitions. Despite his efforts, his solo album, also titled Inside Llewyn Davis, fails to gain traction, leaving him penniless and reliant on the kindness of friends as he sleeps on their couches.

The Gaslight Café Incident

One fateful night, after performing at The Gaslight Café, Llewyn finds himself in a precarious situation. He is brutally beaten in the alley behind the café by a mysterious man in a suit, highlighting the challenges and dangers that come with his lifestyle.

Upon awakening, Llewyn discovers he is in the apartment of his friends, the Gorfeins. In a twist of fate, their cat escapes as he leaves, leading him to take the feline to the apartment of Jim and Jean Berkey. Jean, who is reluctantly accommodating, reveals to Llewyn that she is pregnant and that he could potentially be the father, complicating their already strained relationship.

Confronting Responsibilities

The following morning, Llewyn inadvertently allows the Gorfeins’ cat to escape again, setting off a chain of events that further entangles him in the lives of those around him. Jean later confronts Llewyn about the financial burden of an abortion, expressing her distress over the possibility that Jim may not be the father.

In search of financial help, Llewyn visits his sister, only to be met with disappointment. Instead of money, she hands him a box of his belongings, suggesting he could return to the Merchant Marine for a steady income. This conversation serves as a reminder of the choices Llewyn has made and the life he has led.

Recording a Novelty Song

On Jim’s invitation, Llewyn records a novelty song with Jim and Al Cody, hoping to earn some quick cash. He opts for an immediate payment of $200 instead of waiting for royalties, driven by the urgent need for money. However, when he attempts to schedule an appointment for the abortion, he learns that he has already paid for a similar procedure two years prior, leaving him in a state of confusion and regret.

Later, Llewyn returns what he believes to be the Gorfeins’ cat, only to discover that it is not theirs. This mix-up leads to an emotional confrontation at dinner, where Llewyn performs “Fare Thee Well,” a song he recorded with his late partner, Mike. The evening ends in turmoil as Mrs. Gorfein’s attempt to harmonize with the song triggers Llewyn’s anger, resulting in her leaving the table in tears.

A Road Trip to Chicago

Llewyn’s journey takes him to Chicago, where he travels with two musicians: beat poet Johnny Five and jazz musician Roland Turner. During their trip, Llewyn opens up about the tragic loss of his musical partner, Mike Timlin, who died by suicide, adding a layer of depth to his character.

At a roadside restaurant, the situation escalates when Roland suffers a heroin overdose. The trio is forced to stop on the side of the highway, where a police officer mistakenly suspects Johnny of being drunk, leading to his arrest. In a moment of desperation, Llewyn abandons the car, leaving behind the unconscious Roland and the cat.

Auditioning in Chicago

In Chicago, Llewyn auditions for Bud Grossman, who delivers a harsh critique, suggesting that Llewyn is not suited for a solo career. Instead, he proposes that Llewyn join a trio he is forming. Feeling rejected, Llewyn declines the offer and decides to hitchhike back to New York, where he faces yet another setback when he accidentally hits a cat while driving.

Returning to New York

Back in New York, Llewyn uses his last $148 to pay back dues to rejoin the Merchant Marine union, desperately searching for his seaman’s license, which he had carelessly instructed his sister to discard. His attempts to replace it are thwarted by the $85 fee he cannot afford.
