Henry Poole, a terminally ill man, buys a house in his hometown of Los Angeles. He lives a solitary life fortified with whiskey and frozen pizza, until his neighbor Esperanza Martinez claims to see the face of Christ in his home’s stucco wall, believing it has miraculous powers.
