In 1960s Manhattan, hippies gather at a park to perform protest songs. Fritz, a tabby cat, and his friends show up in an attempt to meet girls. Fritz and his friends eventually exhaust themselves trying to get the attention of three girls who are more interested in a crow standing nearby. The girls attempt to flirt with the crow, making unintentionally condescending remarks about black people. After the crow rebukes the girls and leaves, Fritz convinces them that he is a suffering soul and invites them to “seek the truth.”
The group arrive at his friend’s apartment, where a party is taking place. Since the other rooms are crowded, Fritz drags the girls into the bathroom, where the four of them have an orgy. Meanwhile, two police officers arrive to crash the party. The chaos ensues as Fritz takes refuge in the toilet, leading to a series of events that culminate in a flooded apartment and a chase down the street.
Fritz incites a riot in the city streets and the situation escalates into chaos. His involvement leads to a series of violent events, including the death of Duke the Crow. As the authorities attempt to quell the riots, Fritz finds himself in the midst of a revolution that ends in a catastrophic bombing of Harlem.
Fritz embarks on a road trip to San Francisco with his older fox girlfriend, only to abandon her in the desert. He later meets Blue, a drug-addicted rabbit biker, and becomes entangled in a dangerous plan to blow up a power station. Despite his initial involvement, Fritz has a change of heart that ultimately leads to a tragic explosion.
At a Los Angeles hospital, Fritz finds himself in a surprising turn of events as he recovers from the explosion. The story ends with Fritz engaging in intimate moments with the trio of girls and leaving a lasting impact on those around him.
