Set in 1835 during the tumultuous First Carlist War in Araba, the story of Errementari Full Movie begins with a gripping scene where rebels are captured and executed by government soldiers. Among them is Francisco Patxi, a man who survives against all odds with the help of a demon, ultimately slaying his captors.
Fast forward eight years, and we find government investigator Alfredo Ortiz arriving in Araba, determined to locate Patxi, who now resides in a dilapidated forge deep in the woods. The villagers, haunted by rumors of Patxi’s dark past—including the murder of his wife and the kidnapping of children—avoid the forge at all costs. Their mistrust of Ortiz is palpable, stemming from the government’s actions during the war, which included melting down their metal to create weapons, even taking their cherished church bell.
In this tense atmosphere, a young boy named Benito steals a letter that reveals Ortiz’s true intentions: he is searching for gold that mysteriously vanished during the war. Meanwhile, Usue, an orphan girl with a scarred face, becomes the target of bullying from Benito, who throws her beloved doll over Patxi’s fence.
In a desperate attempt to uncover the truth, Ortiz hires local men to raid Patxi’s forge, suspecting he has hidden the missing gold. However, the raid ends in disaster as Patxi defends his territory, resulting in the death of one of the men who falls into a bear trap. During this chaos, Usue bravely ventures into the forge to retrieve her doll, only to discover a boy trapped in an iron cage. He pleads with her to steal Patxi’s ring of keys to free him, but the boy is soon revealed to be the demon Sartael.
Sartael kidnaps Usue, promising to return her in exchange for Patxi’s soul. However, before he can escape, he is caught in a bear trap, allowing Patxi to intervene. In a moment of rage, Patxi breaks off one of Sartael’s horns and locks him back in the cage. The villagers, alarmed by the news of Usue’s kidnapping, rally behind Ortiz to rescue her.
Upon waking, Usue finds herself in a precarious situation as Patxi tortures Sartael. The demon reveals a shocking truth: he had made a deal with Patxi during the war, keeping him alive so he could reunite with his wife. However, upon returning home, Patxi discovers that his wife had moved on, believing him to be dead. In a fit of rage, Patxi had burned Usue’s face and killed her father, leading to a tragic cycle of guilt and despair.
