Body Heat: A Tale of Betrayal and Murder

The Secret Affair

In South Florida, womanizing low-rent lawyer Ned Racine begins an affair with Matty Walker, the beautiful young wife of shady businessman Edmund Walker. The affair quickly becomes a consuming passion, but the two take care to keep it secret. Matty tells Ned that she wants a divorce, but a prenuptial agreement would leave her without Edmund’s fortune. When she wishes Edmund dead, Ned suggests murdering him. Matty says she wants to forge a new will, but Ned warns her that would attract suspicion.

Murder and Deception

By chance, Ned runs into Matty and Edmund at a restaurant. Matty introduces Ned as a lawyer interested in buying the Walkers’ house. The three have dinner, during which Edmund expresses his disdain for men who would dare to have an affair with his wife.

Ned meets with a bombmaker who provides him with an incendiary device to carry out the murder. After killing Edmund, Ned and Matty move the body to an abandoned building that Edmund owns. They set the scene to mislead the police into thinking Edmund died in an accident.

The Unraveling Scheme

Edmund’s new will, supposedly drafted by Ned, is declared invalid by a judge. Ned realizes Matty has forged the will to ensure her inheritance. As suspicions grow, Ned’s friends in law enforcement begin to investigate Matty’s involvement in her husband’s death. Ned’s own alibi comes under scrutiny, leading to further suspicions.

The Final Betrayal

Ned’s doubts about Matty’s loyalty intensify as he uncovers more secrets. When he discovers incriminating evidence at Matty’s boathouse, a deadly explosion occurs. The body found inside is identified as Matty’s, leaving Ned in prison and desperate to prove the truth.
